about.
... the birds and the bees.

We keep bees and raise chickens in the middle of the forest! We also grow a few veggies here and there and our sourdough starter is a work in progress...

A second generation beekeeper, Gordon has produced raw honey and beeswax products for over twelve years. He supplies a number of local stores with honeys as well as his own range of beeswax skincare products and candles. Gordon's honey is a hit at local markets and he has a proven track record of very happy and repeat customers.

Emmie is an artist, coffee addict and chicken mom! Her not so secret nerdy passion is bookbinding (www.binded.ca) and she can usually be found frequenting the local markets serving joe!

Our chickens are bantams and barnyard mutts! We have eggs available year round for hatching or eating and can hatch chicks on request.

Why Darvel Lace?
Gord's father, David was born and raised in Darvel. Darvel is a small town in Scotland, UK, which was, once upon a time, well known for producing lace.
